Connection to Heaven: Finding Strength and Truth in Recovery:
Chad Olsen, LMFT, Ascend Counseling and Wellness
Chad Olson is married to Janae Van Tassell, and they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this December. They have 6 children with their oldest launching a couple of months ago. His hobbies include golfing and coaching his children in whatever sport they happen to be playing at the time. Chad grew up in Orem, Utah and is the youngest of 5 children. He received his master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from BYU. During his studies, he co-authored an article with Dr. Jason Carroll researching the prevalence and effects of pornography use, especially among emerging adults. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and works with those seeking to overcome pornography and its effects. Chad is the co-owner of Ascend Counseling and Wellness with offices in St. George, Cedar City, Hurricane, Delta and Mesquite. He is also employed with Seminaries and Institute for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is currently serving as the institute director at the St. George institute. Chad has served as a bishop, a high councilor and currently serves as the Stake President of the Snow Canyon Stake. He believes in change and feels it a sacred honor to work with those trying to overcome pornography use. Chad’s message is one of hope as we use truth in recovery.
